Andi Best
Hi!
I am a freelance illustrator and graphic designer directing my own visual communications business entitled Andi Best Illustration and Design . The company is based in a studio in Bexleyheath, Kent and has been dealing with clients for around three years now.
I work with clients from all disciplines and keep the working process relatively informal - there's nothing like a cup of tea over a lengthy discussion on bleed margins, web hosting or surrealist artistic ramblings.
Furthermore, I am a horrifyingly obsessed perfectionist who won't put down his pencil until the job is well and truly brimming with creativity, needless to say I take great pleasure in devising concepts that satisfy the design briefs I receive. Clients often return with more work to commission and I'm sure they make special mention of me in their family Christmas cards, which I may even have designed for them.
The influences that inspire my work are vast and often leap out at me when least expected. As an avid pedestrian, walking from place to place exposes me to an immense number of inspirational sights from the mundane to the monumental - though usually I find it's the mundane that yields the most intriguing stimuli. Of course I am also motivated to comment artistically on popular culture, social interaction and influential practitioners, just because these things fill my days when I'm not hard at work in the studio. Since you're asking, a run down of those who greatly influence my style include Robert Rauschenberg, Chris Cunningham, Charlie White, Michele Gondry, Neasden Control Centre, Andy Potts, Lawrence Zeegen, Andy Simianato, Martin O'neill and the infamous Banksy.
